Introduction

The team at Consang.net is developing the next exciting stage of consang.net with increased user interactivity by combining
the consang.net database with Google ™ Map technology.

You can now explore and assess the geographical spread of all known studies on consanguinity as stored in the consang.net database.


Navigation

Navigation of Consang-Google™ map is straightforward. It is operated using the control panel on the top left hand corner of the map and your mouse.

Simply click the arrows to move the map in the indicated direction, or use the 'plus' and 'minus' buttons to zoom in and out.

You can also move the map via your mouse.

To do so, simply move the mouse over the map. The mouse cursor should then change to a 'hand' icon.

Hand

Simply click and hold down the left mouse button. It will change to the 'grab' icon.

Grab

While still holding down the mouse button, move your mouse to drag the map to the desired position.
You must still use the zoom buttons on the map control panel to focus in and out.

Depending on your internet connection, loading and refreshing the map may take some time, so please be patient!

Global View

The entry screen displays summary data points for each nation for which data are available.

Click on a data point to reveal the region location.

Click on a hyperlink and the data for that region are displayed in a table below the map.

Regional View

Zooming in to specific nations/regions of the map reveals data, if available, from specific regions and/or communities.

For example, the figure below indicates that there is data available from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
