Global Prevalence of consanguinity

The global prevalence of consanguinity map was compiled from detailed source data listed in Tables which, in turn, were sourced from a comprehensive collection of References.

The majority of national consanguinity levels shown in the map are either the most recent study or an average of several studies.

It is recommended that the detailed data in the Tables is referred to when analysing the map.

As of April 2008, the consanguinity level for Nigeria has been lowered due to queries on the available data.
